A Surprise Proposal at the Lightner Museum: Brandon & Briana’s Magical Moment
There are moments in life that leave a lasting impression, and being able to capture one of those moments is truly an honor. I had the privilege of photographing a surprise proposal that took place at one of the most beautiful spots in Saint Augustine—the Lightner Museum.
It all started with a bit of sneakiness on my part. I was hiding in the bushes (yes, you read that right!) waiting for Brandon and Briana to walk up to the fountain. The plan was set, and I had my camera ready to capture the magic. As they strolled toward the fountain, the anticipation was building. Little did Briana know, this was about to become one of the most unforgettable moments of her life.
Brandon led Briana to the center of the fountain area, and without missing a beat, he got down on one knee. The surprise took Briana completely off guard—her reaction was absolutely priceless. She was so excited, she started jumping up and down with pure joy! It was such a beautiful moment to witness, and the emotion in the air was so evident. You could feel the love and excitement radiating from them both.
Adding to the magic, a trolley full of happy onlookers happened to pass by just as Brandon proposed. When Briana said "yes," the entire trolley erupted in cheers and applause! It was such a memorable moment, with strangers sharing in the joy of this beautiful couple. It truly felt like the whole world was celebrating with them.
One of the most stunning details of the proposal was Briana’s ring. An elegant emerald-cut diamond, crafted by Brilliant Earth, sparkled brilliantly in the sunlight as Brandon slid it on her finger. The diamond’s timeless shape and brilliant shine made it a perfect fit for this magical moment.
After the proposal, we took some more engagement photos around the Lightner Museum, which provided a timeless and romantic backdrop. The historic architecture, the lush greenery, and the vibrant atmosphere of the area made for some truly stunning shots. You could feel the excitement in the air as they posed, their love and joy shining through every frame.
But the surprises didn’t end there! Brandon had one more thing up his sleeve—a surprise engagement brunch at the iconic Columbia Restaurant. Briana was completely taken aback when they arrived, surrounded by all her closest friends and family, ready to celebrate this incredible moment together. It was such a special way to continue the celebration, surrounded by loved ones in one of Saint Augustine's most beloved spots.
Being part of this beautiful day, capturing the love between Brandon and Briana, and witnessing their excitement and happiness was such a joy. From the proposal to the surprise brunch, every moment was filled with love, laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime.
